Emily Balistrieri is an American translator based in Japan. His translation of Tomihiko Morimi’s The Tatami Galaxy was a finalist for the 2023 PEN Translation Prize. Other works include Ao Omae’s People Who Talk to Stuffed Animals Are Nice, Eiko Kadono’s Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Takuji Ichikawa’s The Refugees’ Daughter. He did the English subtitles for Takahide Hori’s award-winning film Junk Head and occasionally works on videogames such as Cocosola’s The Witch’s Isle.

Sophie Bowman is a PhD student at the University of Toronto where she studies and translates Korean literature. She is part of the Smoking Tigers complaint of literary translators and Heung Coalition. Her translations include Kim Bo-Young’s I’m Waiting for You and Other Stories (HarperVoyager, 2021) with fellow Tiger Sung Ryu, Looking Back Life Was Beautiful by Grandpa Chan and Grandma Marina of @drawings_for_my_grandchildren Instagram fame, and stories published in Clarkesworld, Guernica, Koreana, and Korean Literature Now magazines.

Andy Dudak’s original stories and/or translations of Chinese sci-fi have been in Analog, Apex, Asimov’s, Clarkesworld, Daily Science Fiction, Diabolical Plots, Interzone, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Pathlight, Science Fiction World (科幻世界), and elsewhere. His story ‘Love in the Time of Immuno-Sharing’ was a finalist for the Eugie Foster Award. Andy lived in China for ten years. He believes in the healing power of Dungeons & Dragons.
