Rachel Cordasco has a Ph.D in literary studies and currently works as a developmental editor. She also writes reviews for publications like World Literature Today and Strange Horizons, and translates Italian speculative fiction. Julia Meitov Hersey was born in Moscow, moved to Boston at the age of nineteen and has been straddling the two cultures ever since. She spends her days juggling a full-time job and her beloved translation projects. Julia is a recipient of the Rosetta Science Fiction and Fantasy Award for Best Translated Work, long form (2021).

Zhao Li is a university student, Bates College class of 2021. Her academic interests include political science and East Asian studies.

Nathan Faries teaches Chinese language and literature at Bates College in Maine.

Yuzhi Yang is a Chinese-English translator and content creator experienced in fiction, international business, news, and advertising. Her published translations include a non-fiction book on China’s high-speed rail industry (China Speed, 2016), a suspense novel (The Child’s Past Life, 2014) and two children books (Tadpoles on the Rock and The Bridge at Dusk, 2006). She has also translated an essay anthology featuring celebrated authors such as Mo Yan, Jia Pingwa, and Yu Hua (Hometowns and Childhood, 2009) and a movie script (Letters from Death Row). Yuzhi is a recipient of the New York State Council on the Arts Translation Grant in 2009 for book translation and a winner of the Queens Council on the Arts’ QUILL Translation Award in 2011 for novella translation.

Alex’s translations have appeared in F&SF, Clarkesworld, Asimov’s, Samovar, Apex, UFO, and other places.
